About the Saint Anthony Shrine:
Located here in Cincinnati, the National Shrine of Saint Anthony offers a place of quiet prayer and reflection in our hectic world. More commonly known as Mt. Airy, it occupies a place overlooking the city and contains not only the Shrine but also a Friary. From its beginning in 1888 it has been home to many who were seeking God’s will in their life and discerning whether to join the Franciscan order. Today it hosts both Friars and novitiates.
The grounds have statues of Saint Anthony, Saint Francis and Our Lady of Guadalupe and are a wonderful place for meditation. Candles may be lit at any of the statues.
Inside the Chapel you will find a first-class relic of Saint Anthony at the base of a statue of this famous saint. Such relics are rare, and the Shrine is one of the few places you will find one.
There are Masses daily at 7:30 a.m. on weekdays, Saturdays at 8:15 a.m. and Sundays at 10:00 a.m. On Tuesdays there is also a Saint Anthony Novena at 2:30 p.m. and a Novena Mass 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend all Masses and Novenas.
